About the Greensburg Ghost Society
The Greensburg Ghost Society (GGS) is a nonprofit-minded community organization dedicated to researching, documenting, and preserving the history, folklore, and unexplained experiences of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding region. While we investigate reports of paranormal activity, our mission extends far beyond ghost hunting. We believe that every historic building, family story, and local legend contributes to the rich cultural history of our communities. We want to organize and maintain the stories.
Founded in 2020, GGS brings together individuals with a shared interest in history, education, and respectful paranormal research. Our team approaches every investigation with an open mind, a healthy dose of skepticism, and a commitment to gathering evidence rather than making assumptions. We recognize that many reported experiences have natural explanations, while others remain unexplained. Our role is not to convince people what to believe, but to carefully document what occurred.

What We Do
Our work includes a variety of educational and research projects throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Paranormal Investigations
We investigate reported paranormal activity in homes, businesses, historic buildings, and public locations. Every investigation is conducted respectfully and without sensationalism. We strive to identify normal explanations whenever possible while documenting anything that remains unexplained.
Historical Research
Every location has a history. Before investigating, we spend time researching property records, newspaper archives, census records, maps, and local history to better understand the people and events connected to each site.
Ghost Story Archive
One of our newest projects is the Ghost Story Archive, a community effort to preserve personal ghost stories, family legends, haunted locations, and unexplained experiences. Whether a story is paranormal, historical, or simply mysterious, it deserves to be remembered.
Public Education
The Greensburg Ghost Society regularly presents educational programs for libraries, community organizations, schools, and historical groups. Our presentations explore local history, folklore, ghost stories, investigative techniques, and the science behind many reported paranormal experiences.
